Mrs Joanna Pieri
Joanna completed her nursing education in 2013, graduating from the Nursing School of the Cyprus University of Technology. During her four-year program of study, she practiced clinically in various departments in the public sector, including intensive care, advanced care, surgical, and cardiac care. After completing her basic studies, she worked as a Community Nurse in the private sector, providing home care to patients for a variety of different reasons. Her work included assessment and evaluation of health, wound care (thoracotomy, ulcers, and diabetic complications) and ostomy care, rehabilitation, management of medications, catheter care and other chronic conditions.
Later, she continued her postgraduate studies, attending the Nursing School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens for a further two years. During this time she specialised in Clinical Nursing and paediatrics. Upon her return to Cyprus she worked as an assistant Nursing manager in the community sector. Furthermore, following her interest in Cardiology, she attended a number of national and international training seminars including the evaluation and recognition of a patient with rapidly deteriorating health, the recognition and evaluation of the treatment of cardiovascular disorders, and electrocardiographic interpretation.
In June 2017 Joanna joined the Limassol Cardiology Practice team as the resident Practice Nurse. Here she provides nursing care for our patients during examination, patient education, and support to the medical staff. She is a registered nurse, holder of a license to practice, and an active member of the Association of Nurses and Midwives of Cyprus.
